Course Description

Your purchase grants access to this course for the life of the site, along with all future updates & improvements to the course.

In this class, you will create game Visual Effects (VFX) assets using various aspects of the craft:

  1. Concept Painting
  2. Particle Animation
  3. Texture Painting
  4. 3D Modeling
  5. Material Animation
  6. 2D FX Animation

Not only will you get 20+ hours of videos training you in these techniques, but you'll also get the production-grade source assets so you can follow along. Generally, these VFX can be defined as handcrafted, with a dynamic and art-directed style that might fit in with games such as League of Legends, Overwatch, and Smash Brothers Ultimate.

To do this, you'll be using the premier tools of the trade, including:

  • Unreal Engine
  • Unity Engine
  • Photoshop
  • Maya
  • Animate CC

Source files for each of these are included in the course, including exhaustive project files for both Unreal and Unity. We offer them as an invitation to spend many hours diving deep into the content, analyzing every aspect, tinkering with what you find, and developing new creations of your own!

Greater results will come from greater investment. Here are some goals for you to shoot for:

  • You will be introduced to many VFX principles and techniques that, as you use them in the future, will make you a better VFX artist.
  • You will gain hands-on experience tinkering with high-end VFX, learn how they're made, and add new skills to your repertoire.
  • You will be guided through creating portfolio pieces you can be proud of, which will demonstrate a jump in the quality of your work.
  • You will become confident and capable of creating high-end, production-ready VFX assets from scratch, on your own

No two students will be identically proficient in all areas of the VFX craft. After purchasing the course, you'll receive access to a private forum where you can interact with other students on the same journey, sharing ideas and feedback, and getting inspiration from each other. Through this community, everyone will improve in areas where they are currently weak, discover new areas they are passionate about exploring further, and sharpen mastery in areas they are already familiar with.

We can't wait to be a part of your epic VFX adventure!
