When is World VFX Day?

December 8, 2023, will mark the first World VFX Day.

The date is dedicated to legendary filmmaker, illusionist, and grandfather of special effects, Georges Méliès. 

What is World VFX Day?

A worldwide day of observance to cast a spotlight on all things VFX. Started by VFX marketing consultant Hayley Miller, who has now been joined by dozens of VFX studios, companies, and VFX educators, World VFX Day aims to celebrate the work of VFX artists and their impact on the world of entertainment. 

VFX artists are encouraged to celebrate by sharing their own work and portfolios, highlighting some of their favorite VFX work of others, and joining the online conversation with #worldvfxday.
